Rooms For Rent for Carnaval in Salvador, Bahia

Carnaval 2007 was a huge success here at our place- we had guests from all over and a splendid time was had by all.

I am an American living in Brazil with my Brazilian wife. We have two children: a 10 year old, and a two year old. They are both very sweet but they are just kids so we ask you to be patient with them! Although we all like to have fun and the beer and caipirinhas will be flowing, we do ask that any hard-core partyers think twice about staying here.

We are offering two rooms in our home for the week of Carnaval: January 31st through February 7th 2008. Additionally, we have two inflatable mattresses: a double and a single that can be put anywhere.

The Double

THE DOUBLE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

This room is available for R$1200 for all of Carnaval (seven nights). Sleeps two, with room for a third single mattress on the floor.

The Dorm

WE STILL HAVE ROOM IN THE DORM.

This room has a bunkbed and a third single bed, as well as a sofa bed which is good for 2 people. This room sleeps a total of 5 people. See photos.

The three single beds are available for R$75 per night, or R$500 for all of Carnaval (seven nights), the sofa bed (which is slightly smaller than a double bed, but will sleep two cozily) is R$120 per night, or R$800 for all of Carnaval (seven nights).

The Other Mattresses

THESE MATTRESSES ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

We also have two brand new inflatable mattresses: one single and one double. They can be put wherever they will fit: either in the living room, or if those renting the double have a third friend they wish to have stay there. The single mattress is available for R$300 for all of Carnaval (seven nights), and the double (this is a full size double mattress) is R$800 for all of Carnaval (seven nights) (sleeps two). This mattress goes in the living room, which essentially becomes a private room.

Location, Location, Location!

We live very close to the parade route in the center of the city (Neighborhood Largo 2 de Julho) - a two minute walk and you are in the center of the action. The parade route goes down Avenida Sete de Setembro and comes back up Rua Carlos Gomes (see Google Maps). Our neighborhood is about a 15 minute walk from Pelourinho, the main tourist destination. We have a large renovated historical house (very clean) with cable tv (some english channels), washing machine, internet (DSL and even wireless- bring your laptop!).
